6-bed cardiothoracic surgery progressive care unit
Additional Preferred Requirements
Cardiac Experience Within Career Strongly Preferred
Adult Acute Care NP Licensure or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP Licensure Strongly Preferred
The Cardiothoracic Surgery Progressive Care Units focus on postoperative care of cardiothoracic surgery, LVAD, and post-heart transplant patients.

Overview This position involves working as a nurse practitioner within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with acute and chronic illnesses, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge, professionalism, and systems-based practice. Coverage includes evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Minimum Board Certifications include Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or Family Nurse Practitioner. Preferred certifications include Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner.
Responsibilities
Provide compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, and end-of-life care.
Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, and coordinate care for patients with acute and chronic health needs in an inpatient setting.
Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health professionals.
Participate in professional development, quality initiatives, and implement standards of care.
This is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.
Minimum Requirements
Master's Degree in Nursing
No supervisor experience required
Licensed APRN in Missouri
National APRN Board Certification
Preferred Requirements
Doctorate in Nursing
2-5 years of experience
