Job Description
The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine and the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a Pulmonary/Critical Care physician for a full-time position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. This is a 12-month salaried faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level, with attending staff privileges at Tampa General Hospital (TGH) and affiliated hospitals. The appointment at the rank of Associate Professor requires at least five years of productive service as an Assistant Professor, and Full Professor requires at least five years of productive service as an Associate Professor. The role involves responsibilities in teaching, research, service, and administrative activities, including academic advising. The candidate may represent the university, college, or department as needed.
Responsibilities
- Clinical: Provide Pulmonary and Critical Care services at USF outpatient clinics, TGH ICU, and other affiliated hospitals and clinics.
- Teaching: Provide instruction and supervision for medical students, residents, and fellows in critical care, clinics, consults, and lectures.
- Engage in administrative responsibilities as assigned by the department chair or appropriate administrator.
Qualifications
Minimum: Medical degree from an accredited institution, with achievement in teaching, research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment at the desired rank. For senior ranks, a record of professional work in refereed journals and recognition in the field is required. Must hold or be eligible for an unrestricted Florida Medical License, be board-certified or eligible in Critical Care Medicine and Pulmonary Disease, and maintain hospital credentials.
