Goodwin Recruiting . This position is with a long-established, growth-minded public accounting firm that recently partnered with a Birmingham-based private equity firm. We are seeking a CPA to join a growing, sustainable firm that prioritizes
people over pure profit
and has a long-term vision of shared success. Responsibilities
Serve as the final reviewer and lead tax strategist on client engagements Mentor and develop junior staff while optimizing internal workflow Partner with two senior CPAs focused on client growth and strategic value Work directly with the Managing Director to modernize systems and improve operations Take on a leadership role with a clear path to partnership, including managing a retiring book of business and expanding your own Qualifications
Active CPA license (required) 8–10+ years of recent public accounting experience, mainly in tax Experience managing tax staff, reviewing complex returns, and supporting clients year-round Leadership mindset and desire to assume a strategic, people-oriented role Familiarity with ProConnect and/or TaxDome is helpful but not required Benefits
