Job Summary
ASTOUND is hiring elite Operational Financial Controllers to help run the business at the project level with clarity, control, and speed. These individuals are not traditional accountants — they are embedded business operators who understand how to manage margin, time, spend, risk, and reporting in a creative, fast-moving environment.
They will partner with Project Managers, Account Managers, and the Finance team to ensure real-time accuracy of job costing, cash flow forecasting, invoicing, and P&L performance per project. You are the financial pilot in the seat next to the delivery lead.
Key Responsibilities
Job-Level Financial Ownership: Own the budget, forecast, and cost tracking of assigned projects from kickoff through closeout. Real-Time Cost Reporting: Maintain daily and weekly reporting on actuals vs. budget. Identify risks before they become losses. Billing and Invoicing Control: Work directly with Finance and PMs to ensure timely invoicing, change order documentation, and alignment to billing schedules. Partner to Project Delivery: Attend key project meetings. Provide financial clarity to PMs and AMs, freeing them to focus on execution and client relationships. Forecast Accuracy: Own financial inputs into sales and revenue forecasting models. Support quarterly forecasting alongside accounting and business leadership. Process and Compliance: Ensure financial practices, templates, and reporting flows are consistent across projects and audit-ready. Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the connective tissue between Operations, Finance, Scheduling, and Client Services.
Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in operational finance, project controlling, or business unit P&L management. Experience in events, experiential marketing, creative agencies, production, or consulting preferred. Highly fluent in budgeting, forecasting, and margin management. Strong understanding of production timelines, vendor PO structures, and client billing models. Detail-obsessed but able to move at speed. Thinks like a business partner — not a back-office function.
