Client is seeking an experienced WAMS/CCB resource who is interested in supporting large information technology projects for our Utility Technologies Solutions team. The ideal candidate has deep hands-on experience with Oracle Utilities WAM v1.9x and CC&B platforms, strong data architecture and transformation skills, and the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure end-to-end solution integrity.
This resource will lead the data integration between Oracle Utilities Work and Asset Management (WAM) and Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) systems for rewire billing processes. They will play a key role in understanding the business and technical flow of rewire events, defining billing rules, and overseeing the full data lifecycle from extraction in WAMS to billing in CC&B.
Location:
This position is remote and the customer is located in Washington. Occasional travel may be required.
Responsibilities: Define the technical integration between Oracle Utilities WAM and CC&B specific to rewire billing processes Develop and document reusable patterns for data extraction, transformation, and integration Ensure data design supports business rules, regulatory compliance, and performance standards Collaborate with business stakeholders to define, clarify, and validate billing rules for rewire scenarios Document how rewire work orders and financial activities are represented in WAMS and how they map to billing entities in CC&B Support business process mapping to ensure technical design aligns with operational workflows Map WAMS data elements (work orders, service locations, costs, materials) to corresponding CC&B billing structures (accounts, service points, premises) Define transformation logic to convert WAMS data into formats ingestible by CC&B (e.g., CSV, XML, JSON) Architect secure, scalable, and auditable data exchange mechanisms using SFTP or similar protocols Development of extraction routines and transformation scripts Design and develop robust and scalable integrations that use OSB to expose and consume web services from the Oracle database. Adherence to architectural standards Troubleshoot integration issues and guide resolution strategies across systems Architect the logic and process to interpret batch responses from CC&B, confirming billing success or exceptions Design mechanisms to update WAMS based on billing outcomes (e.g., payment confirmation, status updates) Support system integration testing, data validation, and end-to-end scenario simulations Participate in UAT by preparing test data, supporting issue triage, and validating output accuracy Ensure technical solutions are thoroughly documented and ready for production deployment
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science or related degree with 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Utilities WAM v1.9x, preferably in a technical capacity. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Oracle Utilities WAM, particularly version 1.9x, including data model knowledge Oracle CC&B, including batch operations and data interfaces Strong understanding of relational database structures, ETL processes, and interface design Proficient in working with CSV, XML, JSON, and secure file transfer protocols like SFTP Ability to architect solutions that are scalable, secure, and maintainable Strong collaboration and communication skills for working across technical and non-technical teams Comfortable with leading solution design discussions, presenting architectural decisions, and writing clear documentation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with utility billing for rewires or other complex field service scenarios Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms or middleware tools Prior experience working in regulated environments or with municipal utilities
