nResponsibilities
nPosition Summary: This is a temporary position
nEmploying excellent customer service skills, the Patient Registration Representative is responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience throughout the registration process.
nCore Duties:
nAppropriate patient identification
nCollecting accurate and thorough patient demographic data
nObtaining insurance information and verifying eligibility and benefits
nDetermining and collecting patient financial liability
nReferring patients to the Patient Registration Specialist as needed for assistance with financial counseling and/or clearance
nQualifications
nRequirements: This is a temporary position
nMinimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related 2 years preferred
nKnowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs preferred
nHigh School diploma, GED or equivalent
nThorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures
nWorking knowledge of medical terminology
nAble to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation
nExperience in requesting and processing financial payments
nnIntermediate to advanced computer skills
