The position:
We welcome outstanding applicants with research interests in any area of machine learning, statistics, or applied mathematics that could drive the frontier of biomedical research. The role will be focused on the development of novel computational and algorithmic methods, with a strong bent towards developing the mathematical foundations of which algorithms are most suitable to biological applications and why. While experience in machine learning or related fields is critical for the role, prior exposure to biology or medicine is advantageous but not required. Postdoctoral associates independently choose their (computational and biomedical) mentors from Broad-, MIT-, or Harvard-affiliated faculty.
Completed application review will begin on a rolling basis after December 20, 2024.
This will be a one-year appointment beginning on or after July 1, 2025, or an earlier/later mutually agreed upon date, with the possibility of renewal for a second and third year based upon satisfactory performance.
Qualifications and Requirements: * Ph.D. (expected or obtained) in Computer Science, Engineering, (Bio)Statistics, or a related field * Strong analytical and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively describe scientific material to both specialized and lay audiences. * Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment and commitment to participating in Schmidt Center activities
