Food Service Aide - PT
Richard J. Daley College is located on the southwest side of Chicago. As a City College of Chicago, Daley College offers accessible and affordable opportunities for academic advancement, career development, and personal enrichment. The Advanced Manufacturing College to Careers program is headquartered at Richard J. Daley College. Daley College is looking for a Part Time Food Service Aide that will work at Daley College's Child Development Center. The primary duties include assisting staff in the delivery of meals to children in accordance with the guidelines of the USDA, Child Care Food Program, Head Start Performance Standards and DCFS Licensing Standards. Performs related duties as required. Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares and distributes catered food to classrooms in accordance with the USDA, Child and Adult Care Food Program Meal Patterns. Serves food at appropriate temperatures, portioning/distributing food into appropriate serving bowls/containers and placing on tables for family style serving. Monitors the dietary needs of the children and remains knowledgeable of food allergies. Washes and sanitizes food carts, serving bowls and utensils, and dishes after meals. Provides clean up and storage of kitchen / serving areas to maintain sanitary conditions and a clean and safe environment. Performs housekeeping duties as needed to support the Center's operations. Assists the Director in maintaining adequate inventory and proper storage of paper supplies (i.e. paper plates/cups, bowls, plastic utensils) and snack food items. Disposes of used paper goods and food related items properly with special attention to health and sanitation standards. Participates in staff meetings and assigned and required training sessions. Performs related duties as needed. Qualifications - External:
A High School diploma or GED. An Illinois approved Food Handler's certificate. One year of food services experience preferred. Must obtain Illinois/City of Chicago Food Service Manager certificate within 90 days of hire. Must be able to pass IL DCFS Background Check and medical certification for food service worker.
