48/96 Shift Schedule - Ogden City Fire Department Entry Level Firefighter Annual Firefighter Salary Range - $54,658.15 - $77,795.60 Required Prerequisites Entry Level Firefighter applicants must meet the following criteria: National Registry or Utah Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT Basic) EMT Advanced or Paramedic Preferred National Fire Protection Association Firefighter 1 and 2 (NFPA FF-1 & FF-2) Hazardous Materials First Responder -Awareness and Operations (NFPA HazMat Awareness & Operations) Education Requirement: High school diploma or GED Fire certifications must be certified through the Utah Fire Rescue Academy (UFRA) or other certifying agency that provides an International Fire Service Accreditation (IFSAC) or Pro Board reciprocity certification. An IFSAC or Pro Board seal must be present on certificate copies with a legible number. Non IFSAC/Pro Board certifications will not be accepted for reciprocity. Copies of all prerequisite certifications must be attached to the application for the Applicant to be considered. Lateral Firefighter/AEMT/Paramedic Annual Firefighter Salary Range - $54,658.15 - $77,795.60 Annual Paramedic Salary Range - $71,055.60 - $101,134.28 Required Prerequisites Lateral Firefighter/AEMT/Paramedic applicants must meet the following criteria. Candidates may be eligible, upon hire, to be placed in an equivalent firefighter/paramedic compensation step up to 8 years of experience at a full-time department. National Registry or Utah Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT Basic) or Paramedic (EMT-P) National Fire Protection Association Firefighter 1 and 2 (NFPA FF-1 & FF-2) Hazardous Materials First Responder -Awareness and Operations (NFPA HazMat Awareness & Operations) Fire certifications must be certified through the Utah Fire Rescue Academy (UFRA) or any other certifying agency that provides an International Fire Service Accreditation (IFSAC) or Pro Board reciprocity certification. An IFSAC or Pro Board seal with a legible number must be present on copies of certifications. Preference for the following: Field firefighting experience Field emergency medical experience Advanced NFPA firefighter, apparatus driver/operator, fire officer certifications Advanced EMS certifications (Paramedic) Degree related to Fire Sciences or Emergency Medical Services Hiring Process Competitive Testing and final Eligibility List Mandatory drug testing with Occupational Physical Examination Physical fitness, strength, and agility test. See Appendix A for the requirements of testing Oral Interview Board EMS & Firefighter Manipulative Skills Assessment Reference & Background Check Applicants will be scheduled upon available position openings. Once open, eligible candidates will be provided testing dates, times, and locations.
