Overview
Orienting, monitoring, and leading children in various activities Developing and implementing lesson plans Leading children and staff through the day-to-day operation of an after-school program, including set-up and clean-up of equipment and supplies. Supervising and leading various activities, games, and crafts for participants for both indoor and outdoor environments Planning for appropriate learning experiences for students based on the curriculum and providing an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and environmental development of student. Linking lesson content to students’ knowledge, background experience, and/or real-world application of content Monitoring staff work hours as well as completing and submitting time sheets. Ensuring the safety of program participants and facility operations Supervising program staff, interaction with parents and paperwork completion Reporting and appropriately dealing with discipline problems, accidents, and other incidents Public Speaking Duties
Leading and/or facilitating educational programs to the youth and providing clear instructions on the programs Other Job Requirements/Information This job requires fingerprinting. Hourly rate Salary will be $21.00.
Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or a closely related field AND One year experience working with and monitoring school-aged children in an organized camp, afterschool, daycare, or similar setting
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
Valid driver's license CPR certification within 90 days of employment First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or a closely related field Previous supervisory experience working with and monitoring school-aged children in an organized camp, afterschool, daycare, or similar setting CPR certification First Aid Certification
