Speech Language Pathologist PRN

The Speech Therapist provides high-quality, patient-centered care by developing and conducting individualized therapy programs for patients with communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing impairments. As a member of the health care team, the Speech Therapist performs comprehensive patient assessments and establishes appropriate treatment goals. The Speech Therapist serves as an educator to patients, families, students, and colleagues. What you will do in this role: Conduct a subjective assessment of assigned patient's speech language abilities during spontaneous conversation. Administer objective tests to assess patient's communication assets and liabilities. Structure and implement individualized patient program to improve communication abilities. Evaluate patient regularly during treatment and adjust program as needed to maximize patient progress. Document progress in patient's chart. Complete notes, charges, discharge notes, and patient communication. Consult with Program Director and Rehab Physician/Medical Director regarding pre-screen assessments and physician consultations to determine appropriate placement of potential patients. What qualifications you will need: 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Master's Degree (M.A. or M.S) in Speech Language Pathology required. Current Texas license in Speech Language Pathology required. Certificate from American Speech Language & Hearing Association (ASHA) required. Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date. QI Care Tool Credentialing (Inpatient Rehab Staff) required within 90 days of start date. Medical City Fort Worth is a 350+ bed full-service Magnet Designated hospital. It is located in the heart of the medical district. Medical City Fort Worth serves as a tertiary referral center for Tarrant County and many counties within a 90 mile radius. We offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services. Our specialties include cardiac care, neurosciences, and oncology. We have surgical services, orthopedics, kidney transplants, and emergency care. We offer three ER locations, including two off campus ER located in Burleson and White Settlement. Medical City Fort Worth is a designated comprehensive stroke center. We are a Joint Commission chest pain center. We are a part of the Medical City network of hospitals. Patients are ensured access to medical experts and advanced healthcare innovations across the network.
