General Summary of Position

MedStar Health is looking for a PRN Occupational Therapist to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital!

As a PRN Occupational Therapist, you will participate in the evaluation and treatment of patients based on current principles and practices of OT. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and MedStar Georgetown's policies, procedures, and standards.

Primary Duties:

1. Provides direct OT evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of functioning, setting appropriate goals, and making discharge recommendations in accordance with standards of practice. Provides direct OT treatments, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plans, and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
2. Utilizes appropriate documentation forms and adheres to PM&Rs documentation standards. Collaborates with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members regarding patient treatment, progress, and discharge planning.
3. Coordinates and prioritizes own schedule based on patient treatment demands and departmental responsibilities. Demonstrates proper use and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
4. Maintains CEUs per state requirements for continued professional competency. Adheres to all Department of Health and Joint Commission regulations regarding the physical environment and patient care.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy.
2. 1-2 years of related clinical practice experience in an acute care or rehabilitation facility.
3. Current D.C. license as an Occupational Therapist Registered, or qualified candidate for D.C.
4. Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.

This position has a hiring range of $60.00 per hour.
