Minneapolis Radiation Oncology (MRO) is the largest physician-owned radiation oncology practice in the Upper Midwest. MRO currently has a physics group comprised of 16 physicists and 15 dosimetrists who provide radiation oncology physics services to eight departments in the greater Minneapolis & St. Paul metro area, with additional centers in Northern MN and Western WI. All clinical sites are accredited by the ASTRO APEx accreditation program. MRO is also currently in the process of developing a CAMPEP accredited physics residency program with the intent to establish the residency program clinically by Fall 2026. The Role: MRO currently has an opening for a full-time Board-Certified Medical Physicist to work at our Twin Cities Metro Radiation Therapy Centers in Shakopee and Robbinsdale, two suburbs on the west side of Minneapolis

These sites use the full complement of Elekta products, including VersaHD linacs, MOSAIQ Record & Verify system and MONACO Treatment Planning Software. This position will work alongside a board-certified senior level physicist, a junior physicist and a medical physics assistant. The successful candidate will be joining our cohesive physics group providing the full range of medical physics support for our radiation therapy departments. This includes performing periodic calibration and QA for treatment machines, CT simulators and image guidance systems. This position will also participate in and supervise patient-specific QA, treatment planning/dosimetry for stereotactic treatment procedures, treatment chart checks and provide support and consultation to radiation oncologists, dosimetrist and therapists. Highlights of working in such a large collegial group include the opportunities for collaboration with peers, optional research projects, mentoring students and residents, flexibility with time off requests and direct support from our in-house IT department. We offer remote work from home up to one day a week for fully trained medical physicists and strive to provide a healthy work/life balance. Clinic Information: This position would be primarily based at the Shakopee and/or Robbinsdale location. (https://mropa.com/find-a-location.) The Robbinsdale site has two beam-matched VersaHD linacs and a busy SRS/SBRT program. The Shakopee site is a part-time clinic with a single Versa linac and an SBRT program. Both sites use Dosisoft EPIbeam portal dosimetry for IMRT and VMAT QA, saving valuable physics time. MRO has aggressively invested in new equipment and technology to streamline clinical services and delivering state of the art radiotherapy to patients. Recent upgrades include eight new TrueBeam and VersaHD linear accelerators, CT simulators and new software solutions. Physicists are highly respected team members in all of our clinics, and reasonable physics needs are strongly supported by management. MRO provides a wide array of physics QA equipment and software, including portal dosimetry on both Varian & Elekta platforms, SNC ArcCheck and SRS MapCheck detectors, IBA Bluephantom2, FilmQA Pro, Mobius3D & MIM SureCalc secondary check software, VisionRT and Identify surface monitoring systems, MIM Protégé AI for AI based OAR contouring, Doselab software for TG-142, and other equipment and measurement devices that support SRS, SABR and HDR programs.
