K. Jacobs is seeking a mid- to senior-level Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer to join a well-respected, multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm. In this client-facing role, you will lead the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects from concept through construction.
What you will do:
Lead engineering design and oversee production of plumbing and fire protection systems. Engage directly with clients in meetings and design reviews, translating client/architect expectations into engineered solutions. Ensure compliance with NFPA and applicable codes; prepare QA/QC deliverables and respond to RFIs during construction. Provide technical leadership to design teams and mentor junior staff.
What you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. 7-12+ years of experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems. Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; ability to obtain required. Proven track record in client facing project leadership. Strong knowledge of NFPA codes and industry standards.
