A Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of the clinical director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic, and therapeutic services or patient care and education. A Polysomnographic Technologist can perform the duties defined for a Polysomnographic Technician and may provide oversight of other staff. What you will do in this role: Completes polysomnography studies. Reviews the results of the procedures to assure quality studies have been obtained and consult with other disciplines as required to communicate results and patient status as necessary to ensure optimal service. Ensure appropriate processing of results of polysomnography testing per policy and procedure. Participates and facilitates in the case management process and cost containment for patients. Cooperates with other personnel to achieve Department objectives and maintain good employee relations and collaborative integration of the health care team. Demonstrates accountability for direct patient care activity. Documents all aspects of patient care efficiently and effectively. Demonstrates professional practice and conduct at all times. Participates in Performance Improvement as appropriate (i.e. data collection, quality control, etc.) Demonstrates the ability to obtain a quality diagnostic and CPAP titration studies and process the results. The ability to assess the patient prior and during studies. Daytime technologist must be able to score and process testing so that studies maybe prepared for physician reading and interpretation. Gather and Analyze Patient Information Testing Preparation Procedures Polysomnographic Procedures and Polysomnographic Record Scoring What qualifications you will need: 6 months to 1 year preferred Associate Degree preferred Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Registered Polysomnography Technician (RPSGT), or Polysomnographer must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date 1 night shift per week required If you are looking for an opportunity that provides satisfaction and personal growth, we encourage you to apply for our Polysomnographer PRN opening.
