The District of Columbia Stabilization Center (DCSC), operated by CBI, provides immediate, 24/7, no-cost, low-barrier access to Crisis SUD services for individuals 18 years and older, regardless of gender, insurance, or citizenship status. The DCSC offers person-centered, recovery-oriented care as an alternative to emergency departments or law enforcement interactions, ensuring comprehensive support tailored to individual needs.
Job Summary The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is part of a multidisciplinary team providing direct care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The role focuses on patient safety, environmental safety, and supporting clinical staff in delivering care.
Skills/Requirements
High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in counseling, psychology, or related health field preferred.
Six months or more of clinical healthcare experience, with exposure to behavioral or medical crises preferred.
Minimum of six months recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders preferred.
Certifications such as Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Nurse Assistant are preferred and should be current and in good standing.
Valid identification required.
