Job Responsibilities:
- Underwrite all credit requests, including new and existing portfolios.
- Recommend credit structures considering quality and profitability within assigned geographies.
- Ensure adherence to risk philosophy, risk appetite, and lending strategies while maintaining client responsiveness.
- Analyze financial statements and navigate various financial structures and credit scenarios.
- Execute commercial lending activities according to Truist's policies and procedures.
- Build effective relationships with Risk Management and client managers.
- Support the commercial lending process through underwriting, policy knowledge, credit structuring, and risk assessment.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and thorough documentation of credit packages.
- Interact with clients regarding pending loan requests or portfolio management actions.
- Understand and articulate all Truist Wholesale Credit policies, procedures, and processes.
- Recommend credit within the Bank's risk appetite and document exceptions.
- Recommend ongoing servicing, including covenants.
- Possibly require specialized underwriting skills for various product offerings.
- Exercise prudent credit judgment within individual loan authority, if applicable.
- Stay informed about business and economic developments impacting the portfolio.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 5+ years of commercial lending and/or credit experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending, underwriting, and regulation.
- Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Preferred: Master's degree, RMA - Credit Risk Certification, proficiency in commercial lending systems.
