We are looking for OBD and Engine Calibration Engineers to metro Detroit.
Responsibilities: Defines, plans, and performs engine, powertrain calibration and other relevant engineering project work within project team as required. Plans and manages engineering resources according to project requirements. Works on specific phases or aspects of projects such as technical studies, preparation of specifications, technical plans, engine testing, vehicle testing, data analysis and validation. Supports/ensures data quality and writes technical project reports. Reviews project for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer requirements, including opinions and interpretations. Coordinates activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering test issues. Defines, executes and supports research and development activities. Participates in customer meetings. Communicates test results, progress and issues as they arise to project team and customer. Participates in powertrain calibration development trips as required. Other duties as required to ensure project success.
Experience and Education
0-3+ years' experience required Bachelors' degree in Engineering required Master's degree in Engineering preferred Experience and exposure to Automaker Practices is beneficial A Project Engineer is expected to have demonstrated abilities in the following areas: Technical
A thorough understanding of Internal Combustion Engines and Powertrain related vehicle systems functionality A basic understanding of IC engine emissions controls components, After Treatment Systems and functionality. Powertrain Calibration development experience with achieving automotive tailpipe emissions standards. OBD Calibration to achieve automotive OBD requirements:
