I. General Summary
The Pre-Cert Specialist obtains surgery pre-authorizations, processes patient payments, and provides excellent customer service to all guests, patients, adjusters, and clients. II. Principal Responsibilities And Tasks
The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed by personnel in this classification. This is not an exhaustive list of all duties. Obtain surgery authorization for procedures requested by physicians efficiently. Analyze patient insurance plans to determine financial responsibility; verify insurance benefits and eligibility. Collect surgery deposits from patients in a timely manner, ensuring security and confidentiality of cash, checks, and credit cards. Assist patients, adjusters, and staff positively and helpfully, including answering questions. Screen visitors and calls, providing basic information in person and over the phone. Perform other duties and projects as assigned. III. Education And Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required. Relevant front-desk and customer service experience required. 1 to 3 years’ experience in a healthcare environment or relevant equivalent required. Experience in customer service, knowledge of insurance plans, and research skills required. IV. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to interact with all organizational levels and work in a fast-paced team environment. Maintain a culture of excellent customer service, friendly staff relations, and approachability. Strong interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills. Experience with patient or customer information systems. Excellent reading, data entry, and computer skills. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements. Additional Details
