Senior Principal Analog Mixed-Signal Design
Job Location:
Hybrid (In-office 2 days a week minimum), Westlake Village, CA.
Job Summary
Our client is seeking an RF and Analog Design Engineer to contribute to the development of multi-tens of GHz Transimpedance Amplifiers (TIAs).
Job Responsibilities
Active circuit design and technical leadership.
Designing cutting-edge transimpedance amplifiers, primarily in Silicon Germanium (SiGe) BiCMOS technology, aiming to surpass industry standards.
Developing transmission line and millimeter wave structures for enhanced performance.
Designing high-performance broadband analog circuits for optical front-end receivers.
Creating various analog circuits such as linear regulators, AGC loops, current/voltage sensors, and bandgaps.
Developing microarchitecture of chips and guiding a team of designers across technologies including SiGe BiCMOS and CMOS.
Collaborating with other teams for post-silicon validation, qualification, and transition to mass production.
Working with management and marketing to define components and translate specifications into circuit designs.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 15+ years of experience in high-performance RF/Analog Receiver/TIA design or MSc EE with 10-12+ years, or PhD EE with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Proven IC design experience, including chip tape-out and lab evaluation of receiver designs.
Solid experience in:
Using EDA CAD tools.
Measuring IC performance and debugging to correlate simulations with measurements.
Fundamentals such as detailed transistor-level design, device physics, and control/feedback loop stability analysis.
Experience in high-precision analog circuits, CTLE design, and multiple technologies including SiGe BiCMOS.
Leadership skills, working with multidisciplinary teams, and taking chips to mass production.
Ability to translate chip specifications into architecture.
Mentoring junior designers and sharing knowledge.
Strong communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
