Principal Insights Analyst - Unpublished R&D Product

As Principal Insights Analyst, you lead Insights efforts on an exciting new game at Riot. As a thought leader, you help the team deeply understand our audience and opportunities, and ensure we have the insights necessary to exceed our players’ needs across both game & marketing. You help shape strategy, and collaborate with the leadership and development teams to ensure the insights work supports refining that strategy and improving decision making . You own our product and business validation strategies, help define key product performance targets, and monitor performance against those targets. You report to the Game Director of the project.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a deep understanding of our audience and their needs, unmet needs, and pain points.
Ensure our product strategy is oriented towards meeting that audience’s needs.
Ensure the game team has actionable and high quality insights (across research, analytics, and data) critical to evaluating the team and product's success.
Drive team philosophy on the integration of insights into the development of strategy and game product, effectively translating insights into impact on the game team.
Identify and advise towards product choices that create competitive advantages and adapt to changing market dynamics (eg: competitive, legal, etc.)
Help to connect product strategy with broader organizational and company strategy.
Help the team set targets for and monitor performance against development plans, goals, finances, & product KPIs.
Formally manage, lead, mentor, elevate performance of, and support career growth for Insights Rioters within the BU (Revenue Strategy, Insights, and Finance)
Workforce planning, staffing, and hiring for Insights positions on the BU
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Psychology, Economics, Mathematics or a related discipline plus 7 years of relevant experience (an advanced degree can account for up to 2 years of experience)
Familiarity with both analytics and research and 6+ years experience in one or both of those crafts.
7+ years experience working directly in game development
Experience participating in strategy development for a product or business in a leadership capacity and helping to operationalize that strategy via ownership or advisory
Excellent teamwork, team leadership, communication, collaboration and stakeholder management
Experience building and leading cross-functional teams
Leading Insights (or related) teams for R&D game titles
Desired Qualifications:
Experience advising teams on product and game design problems by applying a combination of a broad & deep gaming background, game design craft, and product strategy thinking
Experience leading complex efforts with multiple collaborators
Experience working on a AAA game with global reach through development and launch
Experience working on live-service titles

(Los Angeles Only) Base salary range between $187,700.00 - $261,700.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
(Mercer Island only) Base salary range between $187,700.00 - $261,700.00 USD + incentive compensation + equity + 401K with company match + medical, dental, vision, and life insurance + short and long-term disability + open PTO.
