This position will give you an exciting opportunity to put your fingermarks into next generation video coding technology. You will be part of an international, world-class research team with great opportunities to grow.
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
Develop, implement and test novel video coding algorithms and solutions for next generation video codecs improving compression efficiency and enabling new user experiences. Participate in hands-on research work and contribute to international standardization Initiate and create research ideas as well as contribute to research work that leads to technology transfer, publications and Intellectual Property.
Key Skills And Experience
You have:
At least a Master’s level degree in a relevant field (e.g. EE, computer science, signal processing), a PhD degree is preferred. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience on algorithm development for video coding tools Strong background and knowledge of image and/or video signal processing and compression, including latest video coding standards, such as HEVC and VVC. Strong mathematical and theoretical skills.
It would be nice if you also had:
Experience of international standardization is considered a significant benefit (e.g. JVET, MPEG). Experience in AI/neural networks based video compression Knowledge on emerging video formats (360-degree compression, 6DOF video/image processing) A track record of patent creation and publishing in scientific journals in the fields of video/image signal processing and compression. Strong verbal communication and presentation skills in English along with excellent technical and scientific writing skills in English.
