Job Summary:
The Metrology/Calibration Technician supports production by controlling equipment and coordinating the procurement, maintenance, and records of jigs, fixtures, and tools.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
As Metrology/Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for: Controlling all calibration and preventative maintenance schedules Keeping Metrology records and databases up to date Managing inventory of production materials (indirect materials, not parts) - gowns, gloves, boxes, other consumables, tweezers and small tools, etc. Inspecting equipment to detect non-compliance Assisting with internal and external audits as necessary Plan, check, set up, and operate Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) and/or process equipment Conduct routine tests, analyze data and document results Troubleshoot and recommend resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems Update equipment status using established systems and complete associated paperwork Ensure equipment is ready for calibration per metrology processes Perform visual check of M&TE/process equipment for discrepancies and wear Identify, document, and route non-conforming items in accordance with metrology lab processes Provide information and clarification to customers on metrology processes Work with other employees engaged in the calibration and certification of M&TE, and assist in the development of new calibration processes and procedures Perform computations necessary to analyze measurement test results Perform logistics associated with routing calibrated assets to suppliers for calibration services Perform tasks associated with Test Asset Management and Property Management including asset tagging, redeployment, storage and surplus Organizing and executing of maintenance of production tooling/jigs/fixtures. Keeping record of all tooling/jig/fixture related activities internally and for external suppliers.
Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification, and/or instrumentation 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 3+ years of experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification, and/or instrumentation Experience working on a quality and production orientated team Mechanical background experience
