Job Summary
Profee Coders are responsible for accurate and compliant coding across multiple medical specialties including orthopedics, cardiology, ENT, primary care, and podiatry. The role supports Client Medical Group, coding physician practice services without the use of an encoder, requiring strong knowledge and use of coding manuals or electronic coding tools.
Key Responsibilities
Perform professional fee (Profee) coding for physician services in various specialties such as orthopedics (including surgeries), cardiology (including surgeries), ENT, primary care, and podiatry.
Code Evaluation & Management (E/M) services, injection, and infusion procedures with proper leveling.
Ensure accurate and compliant coding to facilitate correct billing and reimbursement.
Pivot between specialties as needed, demonstrating versatility and proficiency across multiple coding areas.
Maintain access to coding books or electronic encoders, as no centralized encoder is provided by the client.
Required Qualifications
Strong knowledge of coding for orthopedics, cardiology, ENT, primary care, and podiatry specialties, including surgical procedures.
Proficient in E/M leveling and coding of injections and infusions.
Ability to work independently with coding manuals or encoders.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience coding for physician practices in a hospital-affiliated medical group.
Certification s
