The Assistant Director of Aquatics for Campus Recreation is responsible for the maintenance, programming and scheduling of the McCarthy Pool, serving as the liaison for Georgetown/Campus Recreation with Club Sports, Athletics, and any other on campus or outside entity regarding the use of McCarthy pool. The incumbent coordinates instructional programs for swimming, racquet sports, and other requests as they are received, including hiring of and assignment of instructors, with the goal of increasing revenue from these programs. Recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising Campus Recreation of 60+ Lifeguard staff and Swim Instructors, additional duties include, but are not limited to: Represent Georgetown University/Campus Recreation as a key contact with the American Red Cross, NIRSA at various Student Affairs and other University functions. Schedule and teach Red Cross certification classes for Campus Recreation and the entire University Community. Work directly with internal and external vendors regarding all pool and filter room related work orders to Campus Recreation facilities for maintenance and repair of facilities and related equipment. Ensure compliance with District of Columbia, and National health codes and policies for public aquatic facilities, overseeing the coordination of facility and staffing operations for all collegiate and special event/rental swim meets. Provide direction and leadership for purchases and maintenance inventory of equipment and supplies. Serve as a liaison to all departments and university stakeholders associated with Campus Recreation that include but not limited to, Office of Emergency Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Public Health, GUPD, and any other departments. This position reports to the Director of Georgetown University/Campus Recreation and supervises the Coordinators of Racquet Sports and Aquatics, Red Cross Instructor staff, Swim Instructors and Lifeguards. This position also has collaborative oversight of Recreation Center Supervisors and Assistant Recreation Center Supervisor and any position as it relates to McCarthy pool. The Assistant Director has significant interaction with students and student groups. Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in a related field At least 5+ years of practical experience Instructor and Instructor Trainer level certifications for CPR/AED/ First Aid, Lifeguarding and CPO licensed Master's degree in a related field preferred Work Mode Designation: This position has been designated as On-Campus. Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $47,586.00 - $87,558.13 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
