About the team Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Operational Excellence (OpEx) is committed to the continual improvement of our people, processes, and performance to position Amazon as an industry leader in safety excellence. Drawing from field expertise, OpEx partners with cross-functional teams to resolve global challenges and proactively support 8,000+ WHS professionals. We partner with process owners to understand causal effects leading to defects, leverage process improvement tools and methodologies eliminating defects, improving efficiency, and driving change to optimize safety performance; creating a culture of safety excellence. We are open to hiring candidates to work from the following locations: New York, Bellevue, or Arlington. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of program or project management experience
Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Fire Protection, Facilities Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in fire/life safety, compliance, operations management, or a related field
Knowledge of FDNY Certificate of Fitness requirements, NYC fire code regulations, North American fire code regulations
Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a large, multi-site environment
FDNY COF holder or experience as a designated COF coordinator
Familiarity with training platforms or compliance management software
Advanced Degree (Safety or management related fields)
Experience with budgeting and cost control preferred

The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
