Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and overseeing all aspects of undergraduate clinical operations in a rapidly growing, highly dynamic, professional program. Plan, develop, schedule, manage, and implement laboratory, hospital clinical, and simulation assignments for more than 500 students in the undergraduate program. Facilitate and lead communication between hospital clinical partners across the city, state, and U.S. Engage with healthcare system leadership, undergraduate students, and the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs to support clinical operations. Serve as the primary point of contact for student questions and concerns regarding the undergraduate program clinical operation. Support the role of the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs. Manage all clinical compliance requirements with each healthcare system utilized by the undergraduate program. Ensures regulatory compliance with University policies and procedures. Develop and maintain relationships with leadership at healthcare institutions across the city, state, and southeast U.S to support and grow undergraduate clinical opportunities. Make the necessary preparations and changes that are required to meet the needs of the undergraduate program (i.e., onboarding, clinical clearance, unit schedules, placement, student schedules, space allocation, etc.) Direct, monitor, and delegate responsibilities where appropriate to the Academic Program Specialist.
Oversee student and faculty clinical clearance and onboarding for all healthcare systems used in the undergraduate program. Communicate with students about uniforms, supplies, and clinical clearance process necessary to onboard at the College and begin clinical rotations. Oversee clinical clearance through multiple outlets (i.e EXXAT, Bridges, MyClinicalExchange, and other outlets as required by individual hospitals, health departments, clinics, and other entities used for clinical operations). Organize student info session for the incoming cohort in conjunction with student services. Inform the Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Programs of students' clinical clearance status and provide required documentation to all clinical agencies throughout the BSN program, as requested by the individual entities. Build and maintain EXXAT timekeeping site for clinical logs and hour tracking. Delegate appropriate responsibilities to the Academic Program Specialist.
Work with the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs to develop, sustain, and increase clinical partnerships and placement opportunities for students across the city, state, and nation. Foster collaborative, strategic relationships with external clinical partners to expand the undergraduate programs clinical operations in intensive care, emergency department, pediatrics, obstetrics, oncology, etc. with a particular focus on units that allow students to achieve program competencies. Travel across the city, state, and Southeast U.S is required. Solo travel is expected. Travel with the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs is also expected.
Serve as a coordinator between faculty, Elsevier, HESI, EXXAT, MedAffinity, the FSU bookstore, and students to ensure access to textbooks, book packages, uniforms, and other materials as appropriate to support the clinical and programmatic operations of the BSN program. Collaborate with IT to support students in Canvas and ensure students are properly enrolled in clinical courses. Maintain cohort email rosters, student rosters, clinical schedules, adjunct faculty list, and student requests in Microsoft Teams. Disseminate information from faculty and staff to student groups or the entire student body. Provide support for faculty committees as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs. Review College Policies to ensure the undergraduate program adheres to these policies. Work with the assistant and associate dean(s) to revise policies as appropriate. Support faculty by scheduling HESI exams, Final Exams, clinical and simulation makeups, as well as proctoring exams with faculty.
Plan and prepare orientation materials for incoming students at the College of Nursing. May require travel to events and programs both on campus and off campus representing the College of Nursing to alumni, students, parents, and community partners. Assist with College of Nursing events such as pinning ceremonies, open houses, and campus tours. Promote community engagement and student involvement. Serve as the administrative liaison for undergraduate student groups (Nole Nursing, etc.) to assist with dissemination of information and planning events. Facilitate student elections for student organizations. Coordinate student awards. Delegate responsibilities to the Academic Program Specialist as appropriate.
Manage the purchasing needs of the undergraduate program. Notary, P-Card holder, and T-Card Holder. Other duties as assigned by the Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Programs.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and four years of related experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to eight years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.) Valid Florida or Georgia Driver's License or the ability to obtain prior to hire. Ability to travel across the city, state, and Southeast U.S. as required of this position. Preferred Qualifications
RN License. Experience working with healthcare systems.
