Description

The CMM Programmer is responsible for writing CMM programs for various parts and gauging, and overseeing the quality lab.

Essential Functions

• Program and operate Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) using PC DMIS software.
• Interpret internal and customer blueprints by applying GD&T principles.
• Manage weekly CMM schedule.
• Align and secure holding fixtures and gauges.
• Create CMM programs from supplied CAD files.
• Communicate CMM results and interpret data with internal engineering and quality staff daily.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot CMM equipment (Brown & Sharpe & Mitutoyo).

Secondary Functions

• Communicate with staff regarding measurement system methods and analysis.
• Prepare measurement system analysis reports as required.
• Perform general administrative duties.
• Multi-task in an automotive environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3 to 5 years experience and/or advanced CMM training.
• Previous tier one automotive experience, familiarity with stamping products is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competence in detailed drawing interpretation and GD&T.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Factory environment with noise from manufacturing equipment and exposure to dangerous machinery.
• Possible risk of injury around equipment.
• May need to lift, carry, or move objects up to 50+ lbs.
