Project Manager

You will join one of our 45 US offices, be part of a dedicated team of over 1500 professionals, and work directly with clients on impactful projects. As a Project Manager at Design Group, you will work with industry experts in our Control System Integration Practice, collaborating with leaders and specialists to deliver high-quality solutions consistently and accurately.
What Youll Do
- Manage project tasks including hardware and panel design, PLC and HMI programming, SCADA design, power distribution, and related documentation.
- Oversee project execution, including proposal development, estimating, scheduling, resource management, contract negotiation, and quality control.
- Ensure proper use of company facilities.
- Lead and develop the controls & automation business in the local office and region, maintaining key client relationships.
- Mentor team members, providing feedback, training, and career guidance.
- Participate in councils overseeing firm-wide standards.
- Handle strategic planning and develop annual vision plans for the controls & automation group.
- Collaborate with recruiting to hire professionals into the group.
- Report quarterly to office and regional partners.
- Coordinate with finance for reporting activities.
- Promote Barry-Wehmiller Design Groups image and culture based on our Leadership Principles.
- Make a meaningful impact through your skills and expertise, strengthening client and team relationships.
What Youll Bring
- At least ten years of experience in automation solutions for the consumer products or industrial industries.
- Experience designing electrical control systems and programming automation systems for process applications.
- Proficiency in Rockwell hardware and software solutions.
- Experience with Siemens, Wonderware, and GE software/hardware (preferred).
- Experience in food & beverage, pulp & paper, or similar industries (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with management, clients, and vendors.
- Willingness to travel for project needs, including installation, start-up, meetings, and industry events.
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
