Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach or Miami, FL .
What a day at EXP has in store for you
Serve as the primary point of contact for construction execution on assigned aviation projects. Lead and coordinate all phases of construction for large-scale aviation projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and safety standards. Manage activities with contractors, consultants, design teams, inspectors, airport operations, tenants, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication. Oversee construction inspections and ensure compliance with project specifications, design intent, and regulatory requirements. Lead construction meetings and maintain strong communication with internal teams and external partners. Review and approve contractor submittals, RFIs, change orders, and payment applications. Monitor contractor performance and progress against baseline schedules and short-term look-aheads. Implement quality and risk management protocols Resolve field issues proactively to maintain project momentum and minimize disruption to airport operations. Support planning and implementation of phasing, logistics, and operational continuity to ensure safe and efficient construction in an active airport environment. Enforce contractor adherence to safety, security, and quality control protocols. Drive change management processes, including the evaluation of claims, scope changes, and impacts to schedule and budget. Collaborate with the Program Controls team to manage forecasting, reporting, and documentation using approved systems (e.g., Primavera P6, Unifier, SharePoint). Mentor and support field staff, inspectors, and junior team members to uphold project delivery standards. Leadership Profile & Project Expertise
Construction Manager - Aviation will need a candidate with a proven track record of leading/managing complex, multi-phase, capital projects of $300 million or greater. Experience providing leadership of a team in an integrated project delivery organization. Experience in negotiating multi-million dollar contracts. Track record of following through on commitments. Displays track record of proven success managing projects and managing a team of project managers. Demonstrated experience in delivering major capital projects successfully (on budget, on time, meeting safety and quality standards within approved scope). Demonstrated excellent written/verbal communications. Support proposal development and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. What your experience looks like
Bachelor's Degree in engineering or construction management preferred 15+ years of experience in the management of large, complex, multi-package construction projects. Project Management Institute (PMI) certification, Program Management certification preferred. Registration as Architect or Engineer is desirable, but not required.
