The achievers and courageous challenge-crushers we seek, have the following characteristics and skills: The primary function of this role will be to lead the HITL support team and support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) Simulator Testers in the Simlab as well as participate in project planning for HITL Simulator Model development in the Modelling and Simulation lab. With main duties including: Gathering incoming test plans/scope Gathering incoming test equipment needs Managing support Team scheduling / coverage Leading Weekend issue support Training the Sim Support Team Monitor Simulator Channels for support questions Support Tester questions by answering/documenting common control system questions Apply systems-level knowledge of HITL environment Apply systems-level knowledge of Vehicle Control system architecture Apply systems-level knowledge of Vehicle operating states Apply systems-level knowledge of Vehicle Control system in Simlab Log defects / pass higher level questions onto HITL Developer team Coordinating with customers and gathering requirements and dates for simteam HITL deliverables Coordinating with internal simteam members on external & internal project scoping and scheduling Attending programs meetings and gathering customer dates/deliverables Regularly meet with Sim team manager to review upcoming customer dates/deliverables for the year In this role you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and directly impact short-term and long-term business goals. Other Functional Responsibilities Provide timely communications on simulator issues or developments. Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Manage supporting the updating/building/reviewing MATLAB models and C/C++ code, supporting system troubleshooting in real time hardware in the loop test lab environment, and providing customer support. Follow existing configuration control system process for dynamic system models Manage the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures Work Experience Essential Requirements: Bachelor Project Management or equivalent Be willing to work 1st or 2nd shifts, as well as weekends, flexing time off accordingly. Deep knowledge of any of the following, electrical machines/AC circuits/power electronics, experience modeling using model-based-design tools, such as MATLAB Simulink w/ Simscape toolboxes and/or MatrixX/LabVIEW Experience with Git version control process Knowledge of real time embedded systems Working knowledge of both software and electrical hardware design techniques, including the ability to read/understand schematics Strong influencing skills and proven history of participating in successful teams. Desired Master degree of Engineering in Computer or Electrical Engineering Knowledge or experience working with hardware in the loop simulators and software modeling environments. Knowledge or experience with COTS HIL equipment like SpeedGOAT/OPAL-RT/NI PXI Chassis Knowledge or experience with real time operating systems including RT Linux and QNX. Knowledge or experience with UNIX-RT/LINUX Industrial Graded systems. Experience developing automated scripts using perl/python.
