Space Domain Awareness (SDA) —supporting mission-critical systems for tracking, predicting, and responding to space object behaviors in an increasingly congested and contested domain. Position Overview We are seeking a
Project Manager
with the technical fluency and organizational acumen to lead complex programs in the space situational awareness and SDA arena. You’ll be responsible for managing technical teams working on next- modeling, simulation, and decision-support tools that enhance U.S. space operations and security. You do
not
need to be a domain expert in astrodynamics or sensor systems—but you must be capable of understanding and navigating programs that involve physics-informed modeling, advanced algorithms, and government customer engagement. Key Responsibilities Direct the full lifecycle of SDA-focused projects—from planning to execution to reporting. Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of scientists, software engineers, and data modelers. Communicate technical and programmatic progress clearly to government customers and internal stakeholders. Drive task prioritization, milestone tracking, resource allocation, and risk management. Collaborate in proposal development and transition planning for SDA capabilities. Facilitate cross-agency coordination, especially within defense and aerospace communities. Support occasional travel to customer sites, test events, and program reviews. Required Qualifications Education:
BS or MS in Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical field. Experience:
At least 5 years in technical project or program management, preferably in aerospace, defense, or space operations. Familiarity with :
Space situational awareness, orbital mechanics, or space surveillance technologies Data analytics, machine learning, and/or modeling & simulation DoD program structures, SBIR/STTR processes, or government contract execution
Skills in :
Project planning, milestone and deliverable tracking Stakeholder and team communication Writing reports, proposals, and technical briefings
