Position Overview:
The Fire Alarm & Suppression Design Manager plays a critical role in establishing quality & technical standards for all fire alarm and suppression system designs. By establishing, monitoring, and improving these standards, you will ensure that fire alarm & suppression projects are built on a solid foundation. In addition to establishing high standards, the Design Manager will be tasked with developing and mentoring Silco’s talented team of Fire Alarm & Suppression Designers.
Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain a positive team atmosphere where new ideas and innovation are encouraged while also creating a culture of accountability Manage and supervise design project assignments in all Silco branch offices Assist the Director with development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators Assist on Site Surveys and Sales Calls for complex projects as needed Perform and/or assign and monitor training on products, systems, and design best practices Participate in project turnover meetings with sales and operations teams Participate in pre-sale cost reviews to ensure technical accuracy and scope feasibility Travel between branches to visit design, operations, and sales teams
Qualifications:
5 years’ experience in fire alarm or suppression design. Additional experience in sales support or project management preferred NICET Level III or IV in Fire Alarm Systems or Special Hazards and State of Ohio Designer License required Previous management or supervisory experience preferred Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Blue Beam, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. (Various other computer programs will be used, but training will be provided) Experience in reading drawings, specifications and fire codes with an attention to detail Excellent communication skills Strong organization and analytical skills
