Wolverine Fire Protection Co. is actively seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and experienced Project Manager to join our team and oversee field installation services for fire suppression and fire alarm systems at a Department of Energy (DOE) site in Aiken, SC. As a full-time, on-site Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of fire protection projects from start to finish, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
Job Duties/Responsibilities for Project Manager – Fire Protection Systems:
- Lead the coordination and execution of fire suppression and fire alarm system installations, ensuring all activities are aligned with project objectives and timelines.
- Oversee and manage project delivery, ensuring compliance with scope, budgets, schedules, and quality standards. You will be responsible for managing submittals, project schedules, change orders, staffing projections, and other critical project documentation.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, internal teams, field staff, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
- Continuously track project milestones and progress, addressing potential delays or issues promptly to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Uphold stringent quality control standards and implement safety initiatives on-site, ensuring that all work is conducted in accordance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure adherence to all security protocols at the DOE site, including handling sensitive information (UCNI, ECI, OUO) in full compliance with security measures and practices.
Requirements for Project Manager – Fire Protection Systems:
- Prior experience at DOE sites such as Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, MOX, or other federal/nuclear facilities is highly .
- Proven ability to interpret and implement project drawings, specifications, and design documents. Experience in fire alarm, special hazard, and fire suppression system installation and testing is essential.
- Ability to estimate and manage change orders and new project opportunities.
- In-depth understanding of fire protection codes, including Uniform Fire Code, Uniform Building Code, NFPA standards, and other relevant regulations.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a proactive approach to team communication and project coordination. Ability to follow through and keep all stakeholders informed.
Minimum Qualifications for Project Manager – Fire Protection Systems:
- Minimum of 5 years of field experience in fire alarm/fire protection project management or related roles.
- NICET certification in Fire Alarm, Special Hazard Systems, Water-Based Layout, or Inspections and Testing is highly .
- EM-385-1 Certification
Work Location Options for the Project Manager - Fire Protection Systems:
- On-site in Aiken, SC (no remote or hybrid option) Preference will be given to candidates located in commuting distance or willing to work in Aiken, SC.
Pre-Employment requirements for the Project Manager – Fire Protection Systems:
- Pre-employment drug testing, background checks (including reference checks, criminal records, credit, employment history and education verifications.)
- Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain DOE L or Q level security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
