Asplundh Engineering Services (AES) is looking for a Senior Substation Engineer to join our teams in the Southeast, preferably in the DC/Baltimore and Philadelphia areas. Asplundh Engineering Services is seeking an experienced Substation Engineer Lead in the Southeast region, with client contacts for on-site substation projects, involving project execution, quality assurance, and design oversight. Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, a Professional Engineering license or EIT certification, at least five years of relevant experience, and skills in substation design and quality control across various utility markets. Responsibilities include: Technical lead for various clients Client-facing point of contact for substation projects Execution of projects with support from engineering teams Assisting PMO with technical response to RFPs and building engineering estimates Assistance with Business Development with PHI engineers and managers Technical/Engineering resource for other utility projects Support the engineering team with relevant expertise in substation engineering Provide direction for substation project designs QAQC review Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field Minimum of 5 years related work experience Substation design experience - Physical and/or Protection & Controls Quality Assurance and Quality Control of substation design projects Professional Engineering (PE) License or EIT Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to deal with ambiguity Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards related to assigned engineering discipline Asplundh Engineering teams work across a broad range of markets, including investor-owned and municipal utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy, and large commercial and industrial customers.
