We are seeking a
Protection and Relaying Project Engineer
to join our Power Delivery team. Locations are preferred in various U.S. cities including Austin, Chicago, Denver, and others. Primary Responsibilities
Perform protective relay calculations and set point determinations. Conduct relay coordination studies using short circuit modeling software. Develop relay setting files and produce compliance reports per NERC-PRC standards. Support relay construction and work under supervision of senior staff. Coordinate with substation design disciplines and travel as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in power system analysis, relay settings, or substation design. Knowledge of power system analysis software (CAPE, Aspen, ETAP). Strong communication and computer skills. Experience with transmission and distribution protection schemes, voltages up to 765kV preferred. Required Qualifications
PE license. Experience in power market sector project execution. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and power sector design software. Why Join HDR?
