DeBakey VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our team in Houston, TX. The Psychiatrist will perform psychiatric evaluations, treat patients with personality, emotional, or mental health issues, prescribe medications, and recommend appropriate therapies based on current standards. The psychiatrist will also oversee and instruct medical students and psychiatry residents on the progression of mental illnesses during treatment. Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Qualifications
Must be a U.S. Citizen (considering non-citizen candidates) Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State Board Certified or Board Eligible (preferred) Strong knowledge of psychopharmacology and evidence-based practices (preferred) Highly motivated, team-oriented, and dedicated to Veteran care Benefits
Salary: $240,000 - $280,000 Relocation/Recruitment Incentive Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Up to $200K over 5 years for student loans CME stipend: $1,000/year + 5 days paid CME leave Liability protection (malpractice insurance) Annual paid time off: 26 days leave, 13 sick days, 11 federal holidays, and up to 5 CME days Federal Retirement Plan and 401K with partial agency match Health, Dental & Vision Insurance Additional Details
