The QA/QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements in the oil and gas industry. This position oversees all quality assurance and control activities, supervises QA/QC personnel, and ensures the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality work across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement project-specific QA/QC plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), and quality procedures aligned with ISO 9001, ASME, API, and client specifications. Oversee inspection and testing activities related to welding, piping, pressure vessels, instrumentation, electrical systems, coatings, NDE, and civil works. Manage and lead QA/QC teams including inspectors, document control personnel, and third-party auditors. Interface with clients, third-party inspectors, and regulatory agencies to resolve quality-related issues. Conduct audits (internal, supplier, and subcontractor) and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Review and approve contractor quality deliverables, material certifications, weld maps, and test reports. Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for quality deviations and non-conformances; issue and track NCRs. Maintain QA/QC documentation, inspection records, and turnover dossiers for final project handover. Monitor and report quality KPIs, non-conformance trends, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure full implementation of welding and inspection procedures (WPS/PQR/WPQ) and compliance with ASME Section IX, B31.3, API 1104, or other relevant codes. Support commissioning and final acceptance testing with verification of quality records and punch list closure. Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field (preferred). Minimum 710 years of quality management experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical sector. Extensive field experience in construction, fabrication, or commissioning of oil & gas facilities. Certifications (Preferred/Required): ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) API (510, 570, 653) or NACE/AMPP Coating Inspector Certification ASNT Level II/III in NDT methods (MT, PT, RT, UT, VT) Skills: Strong knowledge of industry codes and standards: ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, NACE, etc. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in MS Office and quality management software/tools. Ability to interpret complex drawings, specifications, and engineering documents. Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking. Physical Requirements:
Ability to work on active construction or production sites (onshore or offshore). Capable of wearing required PPE and climbing scaffolds, ladders, or platforms as necessary. Willing to travel to remote sites or work rotational schedules if needed.
