Job Title : Quality Assurance Engineer (Automation)
Client : Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC)
Location : Austin, TX (Hybrid - 2 days onsite, 3 days remote)
Duration : 09/15/2025 - 08/31/2026 (Up to 2,000 hours)

Brief Description :
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a skilled Quality Assurance Engineer with strong scripting, testing, and communication abilities. The role involves developing and executing automated test suites, managing test artifacts, and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) across complex enterprise systems. This position requires candidates to be local to Austin, TX.

Responsibilities : •Develop and maintain automated test suites using UFT or similar tools. •Write and execute database queries using SQL and PL/SQL to support testing. •Participate in Agile development teams to ensure test coverage aligns with sprint goals. •Prepare Requirements Traceability Matrices, Test Plans, and Test Scripts. •Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT). •Document and communicate test results, defects, and risks effectively. •Collaborate with developers, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve issues. •Support the CI/CD process through integration of automated testing.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications : • 8+ years
of experience in automated testing with tools like UFT. • 8+ years
of experience writing and executing SQL/PLSQL queries. • 8+ years
of experience communicating effectively with technical and non-technical teams. •Proficient in scripting languages such as JavaScript, VBScript, and Python.

Preferred Qualifications : • 6+ years
of experience creating Requirements Traceability Matrices and Test Plans. • 6+ years
of experience coordinating UAT and developing Test Scripts. • 6+ years
of experience with general SDLC processes. • 4+ years
of experience using JIRA for project/task tracking. • 4+ years
of experience working in Agile environments. • 1+ year
of experience with Agile project methodologies.

Work Location and Schedule : • Location : 701 W 51st Street, Austin, TX 78751 • Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CT • Work Type : Hybrid (Onsite Mondays and Tuesdays) • Residency Requirement : Candidate must reside within a 50-mile radius of Austin, TX
