Overview
We are seeking a Quality Control Specialist for a barracks project at Fort Benning. The role involves being on-site with a Quality Control Manager (QCM), where you will oversee either the electrical or mechanical scope under the direction of the Project Manager and QCM. Responsibilities include assisting with the development and implementation of audit protocols, auditing third-party vendors to ensure quality and compliance, creating weekly reports to locate errors, ensuring that requests from management or customers are handled in a timely manner, performing specified tests to verify that control measures are adequate for contract requirements, scheduling, documenting the results of, and maintaining a log of all required inspections, and clearly documenting, correcting, and re-inspecting all non-conformances before covering up work. Essential Skills include a degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering, 2+ years of building construction experience, and OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety & Health training. Additional Skills & Qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management with 2 years of experience in either Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines; OR a high school diploma/GED plus 5 years of construction management experience. Experience establishing and maintaining effective quality control systems in compliance with contract requirements is also required, along with experience using Army RMS/CQC system, strong knowledge of project plans, specifications, shop drawings, samples, and testing, proficiency with computer software used in the construction industry, ability to create and administer new QC programs, time management skills, professional communication skills both verbally and in writing, and credentials showing completion of the course 'Construction Quality Management for Contractors' offered by USACE, or willingness to complete the course upon hire. The position offers a per diem for 5 days of full per diem at $178/day and 2 days of partial per diem for lodging for non local candidates. The role will involve working on-site, overseeing either electrical or mechanical scope under direction. The work environment is dynamic and requires adherence to safety protocols, with an emphasis on maintaining quality standards in construction management. The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $47.99/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
