Our client, a leading acute care hospital in Southern Arizona, is seeking an experienced and strategic
Cath Lab RN Director
to lead its Cardiovascular Services department. This position oversees all cardiovascular service lines, including the Cath Lab, EKG, and Echocardiography units. The ideal candidate is a strong nursing leader with deep clinical expertise in cardiovascular care and proven success managing complex operations in an acute care hospital setting.
The facility features
three procedure rooms
and an
attached cardiac observation unit , with approximately
45 procedures per week . The team does not currently handle EP or IR procedures.
Key Responsibilities Direct the day-to-day functions of Cardiovascular Services to ensure high standards of care and adherence to healthcare regulations. Provide strategic leadership and guidance for the Cath Lab, EKG, and Echo teams. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and streamlined workflows to enhance safety, efficiency, and clinical excellence. Manage departmental budgets, track performance metrics, and oversee financial reporting. Maintain the hospital’s charge master, ensuring accurate and compliant billing practices. Oversee supply chain and inventory processes to ensure optimal readiness and availability of cardiovascular equipment and supplies. Lead staff development through ongoing training, performance evaluations, and coaching. Supervise medication administration processes to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory protocols. Drive quality improvement initiatives and support the standardization of best practices across departments. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to solve operational challenges and enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license. Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role as a Director overseeing a Cath Lab. Previous hands-on experience working as a Cath Lab Nurse is required. Background in acute care hospital settings. Proven ability to lead high-performing teams and drive operational improvements. In-depth knowledge of cardiovascular procedures, technologies, and compliance standards. Strong financial management skills, including experience with budgeting and cost control. Demonstrated success leading quality improvement initiatives. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
