The Department of Radiation Medicine and Urology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) seeks a board-certified Advanced Practice Provider (APP) (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate) to join our faculty team. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide urologic oncology care with Oregon’s only academic medical center.
This position supports the care of patients with prostate cancer and other genitourinary malignancies. This role is part of a collaborative effort to improve access to multidisciplinary oncologic care and supports OHSU and the Knight Cancer Institute’s mission to improve access to care for cancer patients. The APP will provide clinical services in both academic and community-based settings, with a focus on early detection, surveillance, survivorship, and the management of treatment-related side effects.
The APP will collaborate with faculty and staff in Radiation Medicine, Urology, Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Medical Genetics to deliver comprehensive care. The role will be based at multiple clinical sites, including the Knight Cancer Center in Beaverton, in order to improve patient access and reduce current wait times for prostate cancer evaluation.

Function/Duties of Position
The APP may also contribute to the education of support staff within their area of expertise and may be invited to teach at the School of Nursing or the School of Medicine through lectures. They will mentor students, trainees, and staff by modeling best practices and delegating responsibilities to foster learning. Additionally, the APP may engage in scholarly research to enhance the understanding, detection, and treatment of urologic diseases and may participate in public service activities with both OHSU and external organizations, as approved by the Department Chair.
Clinical Care
Conduct prostate cancer screening, including for patients with increased genetic risk. Evaluate elevated PSA levels and coordinate referrals for prostate biopsy. Provide routine post-radiation surveillance and survivorship care Identify biochemical recurrence (BCR) and initiate appropriate work-up (e.g., PSMA/Axumin scans). Manage short-, long-, and late-term effects of cancer treatment, including: Lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) Urge urinary incontinence Overactive bladder (OAB) / irritable bladder Radiation urethritis and cystitis - Urethral stricture and fistula Erectile dysfunction Manage androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), including: Pre-ADT laboratory work-up Coordination with primary care for metabolic side effects Treatment of ADT side effects such as hot flashes and nocturia Monitor bone health and screen for secondary malignancies (e.g., bladder, colorectal). Provide support for patients experiencing distress related to diagnosis and treatment. Evaluate and manage common urologic conditions, including BPH, prostatitis, hypogonadism, recurrent UTIs, and testicular pain. Handle patient calls, triage concerns, and support clinic staff. Document medical records accurately and perform necessary administrative tasks
Leadership And Collaboration
Work closely with faculty and staff from multiple departments to deliver multidisciplinary care. Participate in department and institutional quality improvement efforts Support coordination of care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Collaborate with OHSU leadership to support the health system's goals and mission in teaching, research, patient care, and public service

Clinically to Dr. Arthur Hung, MD, Associate Professor and Interim Chair, Department of Radiation Medicine Administratively to Kevin Keen, Department Administrator, Department of Radiation Medicine
Required Qualifications
Nurse Practitioner:
Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program. Active Oregon Nurse Practitioner license.
Physician Associate
Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program. Current national certification and Oregon Physician Assistant license.
Prescriptive Authority (DEA License) Required
Preferred Qualifications
Urology, oncology, or radiation medicine experience preferred
