Research Program Manager DoD Research Programs Apply locations Boston, MA (Main Campus) Time type Full time Posted on Posted 8 Days Ago Job requisition id R133304 About the Opportunity Job Summary The Defense Industrial Base Institute seeks an experienced Research Program Manager to support a new DoD funded project and its overall mission in the metro-Boston area and nationally. The Research Program Manager, focused on DoD sponsored research, is based in Boston and responsible for operational oversight of DoD funded research programs. Reporting to the Director of Research, this role involves program and project management across multiple contracts and activities, including tracking schedules, performance, risk, logistics, compliance, and collaboration with staff and faculty. Minimum Qualifications US Citizenship required. PMP or PgMP certification or relevant work experience (5+ years). Bachelor’s degree with applicable experience; graduate degree preferred. Knowledge of DoD program and contract management. Background in Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, or related fields. Strong organizational and communication skills. Proficiency in MS Office and ability to learn new systems. Willingness to travel as needed. Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities 1) Research Program & Portfolio Oversight and Support: Manage multiple program portfolios, milestones, and deliverables. Analyze projects, manage schedules, and report to the Director. Assist with proposals and budgets. Coordinate with technical staff, leadership, and government personnel. Ensure compliance and support research activities. 2) Meetings, Workshops, and Seminars: Plan and coordinate research meetings and outreach events. Manage logistics, attendee lists, and materials. Travel to support presentations and outreach. 3) Manuscript, Publication, Briefing Writing: Assist in preparing technical narratives, reports, and outreach materials. Support research teams and outreach efforts. Requirements US Citizenship is required. Additional Information This is a fixed-term appointment, with renewal potential based on funding. Compensation Grade/Pay Type: 111S Expected Range: $86,490.00 - $122,163.75 Starting salary depends on experience and qualifications.
