The Senior Applied Scientist will lead efforts in machine learning, audio processing, and natural language understanding, collaborating with teams to drive innovation in content localization. Responsibilities: • Drive innovation in machine learning, audio processing, and natural language understanding. • Collaborate closely with solution development teams. • Communicate scientifically rigorous work to business stakeholders. • Mentor and develop applied science talent within the team. Qualifications: Required: • PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience • 5+ years of building machine learning models for business application experience • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language • Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning • Strong communicator, able to describe scientifically rigorous work to business stakeholders of varying levels of technical sophistication • Intensely curious about how the research is moving the needle for business • Strong inter-personal and mentoring skills to develop applied science talent in the team Preferred: • Experience in building speech recognition, machine translation and natural language processing systems (e.g., commercial speech products or government speech projects) • Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals in one of those areas (audio processing, natural language processing/understanding, machine learning) Company: Prime Video delivers an entertainment destination unlike any other—fast, reliable, personal, effortless, and delightful.
