Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine and Sports Medicine
to serve as
Interim Associate Program Director
and
Core Faculty
for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. This dual-role position combines leadership in medical education and primary care sports medicine. As
Associate Program Director , the individual will oversee the residency program, providing mentorship, curriculum development, and resident assessment, ensuring alignment with ACGME standards. The role also involves supporting the Program Director in advancing the academic mission of USF and fostering excellence in clinical care, research, and teaching. Additionally, this position will lead the development of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Minimum Qualifications:
Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest relevant degree, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, research, and service. Meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of
Associate or Full Professor . Produced creative work, professional writing, or research in refereed and professional journals; recognized authority in the field. Additional Minimum Requirements:
Full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent; ability to obtain and maintain it. Credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan and hospital staff in good standing. Participation in teaching residents, fellows, and medical students. Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine (CAQSM) or equivalent. ACLS and ATLS certifications. Patient care at Tampa General Hospital and satellite locations, outpatient sports medicine at USF Morsani campus, urgent care, and sports medicine services at the USF Student Health Center. Teaching and Other Duties:
Active participation in teaching and research, mentorship, and expanding clinical services. Serve as ACGME Core Faculty and Associate Program Director, ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements, including resident survey responses. Lead development of the USF Emergency Medicine Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship.
