The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in Ruby on Rails and a background working with clinical or administrative healthcare systems. This role is instrumental in building and maintaining applications that support hospital operations and patient care workflows.
Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications to support clinical and operational healthcare processes. Collaborate with physicians, researchers, and IT teams to translate healthcare needs into functional software solutions. Ensure all development aligns with HIPAA and healthcare regulatory compliance standards. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues in existing Rails applications. Maintain thorough documentation of code, workflows, and system architecture. Required Skills & Experience:
5+ years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development. Proven experience in healthcare or clinical environments, with understanding of workflows and system integration. Solid knowledge of HIPAA regulations and secure software development practices. Experience with healthcare data systems, EHR platforms, or hospital administration tools is highly preferred. Proficiency in relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git. Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-functional teams involving clinical and IT professionals.
