We are looking for a highly experienced SAP Enterprise Architect to join our growing Utilities consulting practice. The SAP Enterprise Architect for Utilities plays a pivotal role in guiding utility companies through digital transformation, leveraging SAPs suite of solutions and industry best practices. Working at the intersection of business strategy, technology, and industry-specific challenges, this role ensures that utilities harness the full power of SAP to drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer-centric innovation. The position requires a blend of technical expertise, industry knowledge, leadership skills, and a visionary approach to architecting and implementing SAP solutions within the complex landscape of the US utilities sector.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the lead SAP architect on client engagements across the Utilities sector (electric, gas, water, renewables).
• Develop and communicate SAP solution strategies and reference architectures that align with utility client business goals, industry regulations, and modernization initiatives.
• Provide architectural oversight for SAP S/4HANA migrations, greenfield and or brownfield implementations, and optimization of legacy SAP systems (e.g., ECC, IS-U).
• Design scalable, integrated solutions using SAP technologies (e.g., IS-U, SAP CRM, SAP BTP, SAP EAM, SAP FI-CA) and cloud platforms (e.g., RISE with SAP, Azure, AWS).
• Partner with client CIOs, CTOs, and solution leaders to assess current-state architecture, define future-state roadmaps, and prioritize transformation initiatives.
• Lead architecture governance across project phases including blueprinting, design, integration, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with internal teams (industry advisors, functional consultants, developers) to ensure end-to-end alignment and high-quality delivery.
• Stay current on SAP and industry trends (e.g., grid modernization, digital customer engagement, DER, AMI) and advise clients on emerging technologies.
• Deep experience with SAP IS-U and SAP S/4HANA, including industry-relevant modules (e.g. SAP PM, EAM, CRM, FI-CA, EDM).
• Proven track record of designing and governing large-scale SAP transformation programs in a Utilities context.
• Strong understanding of utility industry regulatory and operational environments (e.g., rate case management, energy trading, outage management).
Key Skills/Knowledge:
• SAP certifications (e.g., S/4HANA Architect, Utilities Functional Consultant, SAP Activate).
• TOGAF or other enterprise architecture certifications.
• Experience with utility-specific integrations (e.g., SCADA, GIS, AMI, MDM, CIS).
• Exposure to AI/ML, IoT, and digital twin use cases in the utility domain.
• Exposure to DevOps, Agile, or SAFe methodologies in SAP pro ject delivery.
• Experience with SAP Cloud technologies and other cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)

Qualifications:
• Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
• 10+ years of SAP experience, including 5+ years in enterprise or solution architecture roles with utility clients.
• Strong expertise in SAP IS-U and S/4HANA, with a solid understanding of SAP modules relevant to Utilities (e.g., PM, EAM, CRM, FI-CA, EDM).
• Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale SAP transformation programs for electric, gas, or water utilities.
• Proven ability to work in a client-facing consulting capacity with both business and technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of regulatory and operational challenges in Utilities (e.g., rate structures, compliance, asset lifecycle, metering, outage response).
Salary range: $150,000 - $200,000 a year
