JOB DESCRIPTION:
Theoris is seeking a highly skilledSQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)withexceptional SQL expertiseto join our clients project. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a data-driven environment and is passionate about optimizing database performance and ensuring data integrity. While strong DBA fundamentals are important, we are open to training the right candidate in DBA-specific responsibilities. The most critical requirement isdeep, hands-on SQL knowledge.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries and stored procedures. Manage and maintain SQL Server and/or DB2 environments. Perform database backups, restores, replication, and disaster recovery planning. Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies. Collaborate with development and QA teams to support application interfaces and data integration. Utilize data modeling tools to design and maintain logical and physical data models. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
Expert-level SQL skills this is the most critical requirement. Solid understanding of relational database concepts and RDBMS fundamentals. Experience with SQL Server or DB2 as a DBA (both is a strong plus). Familiarity with backup/restore processes, replication, and performance tuning. Experience with stored procedures and troubleshooting database issues. Proficiency with data modeling tools (e.g., ER/Studio, ERwin, or similar). Strong interface and integration experience. Prefer exposure to third-party tools such asBoomi, Pentaho, Tosca, or similar. Willingness to learn and grow DBA-specific skills under mentorship. Prefer experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
