PURPOSE

Salem-Keizer Public Schools is seeking a strategic and service-oriented leader to serve as our next
Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition . This key leadership role supports the district’s vision that all students graduate prepared for a successful life by overseeing recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies that attract and support exceptional educators and staff. The Assistant Director will lead initiatives such as student teacher placements, substitute onboarding and training, and “Grow Your Own” educator development programs in partnership with colleges and universities. They will also play a vital role in enhancing employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention through culturally responsive onboarding and continuous improvement efforts.
The ideal candidate brings a passion for equity and innovation, a deep understanding of talent acquisition in educational settings, and a collaborative spirit. This role involves managing hiring events, analyzing key HR metrics, and implementing systems that improve the employee experience across the district.
