Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sandblaster to join our team. The Sandblaster will be responsible for performing abrasive blasting on stainless steel food processing equipment to ensure surface preparation, cleanliness, and the highest quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of the specific needs of stainless steel in the food processing industry, and adherence to safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, polish, and prepare stainless steel surfaces used in food processing equipment.
• Inspect and assess materials to determine the most appropriate sandblasting technique.
• Follow specific protocols for food-grade surface finishes, ensuring compliance with industry cleanliness and hygiene standards.
• Ensure all sandblasting work meets quality specifications for texture, finish, and uniformity of the stainless steel surfaces.
• Wear proper protective equipment and follow safety guidelines to prevent injuries and exposure to harmful materials.
• Record and report sandblasting activities, materials used, and time spent on each project.
• Collaborate with the maintenance and production teams to ensure timely and efficient completion of sandblasting tasks.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma Preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge in Sandblasting is a plus.
Other Skills & Attributes
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to assess surface conditions and adapt techniques as needed.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of safety procedures related to sandblasting operations.
